An exceptional example of traditional Chinese craftsmanship, this finely carved nephrite jade censer embodies both artistic elegance and cultural symbolism. The vessel features a lidded form with intricate scrollwork and mythical motifs, including a detailed foo dog finial perched atop the lid—a symbol of protection and prosperity in Chinese tradition.

The body of the censer is supported by three short legs, each carved in paw form, and flanked by elaborately pierced handles with free-moving jade rings. The entire piece is fashioned from pale green nephrite jade, subtly mottled with natural inclusions and accented by a small russet vein on one handle—evidence of its natural origin and desirable patina.

Censers such as this were historically used in ritual and ceremonial contexts, burning incense to purify spaces and invite harmony. Beyond its functional use, jade in Chinese culture symbolizes purity, virtue, and longevity, often reserved for scholars, nobles, and imperial courts.

This is a stunning example of a late 19th century knockdown wardrobe, expertly crafted in rich, figured walnut with paneled doors and fluted accents. These types of wardrobes were designed to disassemble easily for transport, making them ideal for families relocating by wagon or train during the American frontier and Victorian eras.

Featuring two large paneled doors with ornate brass escutcheons and working skeleton key locks, the wardrobe opens to reveal spacious interior storage with adjustable shelves. Below are two dovetailed drawers with solid brass pulls, all resting on a molded plinth base. The wardrobe includes pegged joinery and a removable crown molding, typical of high-quality knockdown construction.

This piece showcases its age through original hand-planed surfaces, subtle wear, and patina that only over a century of use can provide. Both functional and beautiful, this wardrobe is not only a remarkable piece of antique furniture but also a rare survivor of the knockdown era — designed for mobility, built for longevity, and admired craftsmanship

A rare and functional example of early American ingenuity, this convertible chair-table dates to the early 1900s and features a charming Mission-style design. Constructed of solid oak with vertical slat sides, this piece transforms seamlessly from a comfortable armchair into a compact side or utility table. The flip-top design allows the seat to become the tabletop, with side arms resting flat to create a sturdy, square surface.

The seat and back are upholstered in what appears to be the original green oilcloth, tacked with period-correct nails, and the seat retains its original straw stuffing, a rare surviving feature that highlights the piece’s age and authenticity.
